Disable Private Relay on the YMCA Mobile network

It was recently brought to our attention that users were experiencing popups on iOS stating Private Relay Unavailable.

Private Relay is a premium iCloud service that aims to preserve your privacy by masking your device and location information when visiting a website. With our recent network changes, this conflicts with our content filtering and security policy due to the method Apple is using to perform this process.

Our recommendation is leaving this service on but disabling it for the YMCA Mobile network. This allows you to still utilize the service on other networks but will automatically disable itself when connected to our corporate network, YMCA Mobile. Rest assured that our corporate network has extended security controls that makes this service redundant.

Step 1 - Click the Settings icon on your iPhone

Step 2 - Click on the Wi-Fi option

Step 3 - Click the i option next to the YMCA mobile

Step 4 - Scroll down and slide Limit IP Address Tracking to Off
